Chinese people are usually very modest. When being praised, they always say "nǎ lǐ nǎ lǐ" (哪里哪里), "guò jiǎng le" (过奖了), "hái chà dé yuǎn ne" (还差得远呢) instead of saying "xiè xie" (谢谢) directly.
